ok guys i have problem i have 1997 honda civic hx i did swap b16a2 and motor is runin fine it just i put jumper harnes obd2toobd1 chip ecu and im having trouble redline it wont pass 7500 and it suposto go to 8500 no check engine light no nothing put the ecu in my buddy car work fine i dont know what to do helppp

hey um not too sure about this one maybe check the vtech harness cuz thats about when u get the most power out of ur car and u might have a rev limiter on there but again im not too sure...

 

yeah i used a non vtec harnes so i run vtec on diferent vires v tec is popin it just redline is to early

 

might need to use a vtech harness bro....when i got my eg of course i bought it used it has vtech but not a vtech head so basicly i have no redline lol so for u its prob visversa just see if u can add a vtech harness might help ill ask some techs for you on monday i work at acura dealership and we all drive hondas

no cels no nothing im runnin chip po6 and whn u runnin obd1 ecu on ond2 shell with jumper harnes it wont show no cel

What ecu are you running and who programmed it? Sounds like you should start there.

 

ecu is fine cuz i put the ecu in my buddys car and it work fine no problem but when i put it in my car it start doing that

your v-tak is broke my doode what does your car idle at ? maybe your cluster isn't correct or your ecu is just tuned to have rev limiter at 7500 for god knows why and you can always have them map it since you can always run a map or something to see if it can make the motor pass 7500 only thing i can think of is ECU

 

im preatty sure ecu is fine cuz it work good in another carr

 

The harness doesn't have a rev limiter on it. The ECU is the only thing that controls the rev limiter.

Maybe your tach is off. What speed is your car going at redline in 2nd gear? If it's going around 60mph with a B16 trans, the tach is probably off.

 

I wouldnt run out and buy a new harness cause that is prolly not where your problem is. It can be one of two things really. The chip in your ecu could either be for a sohc or dohc. You say you have a p06 some im gonna guess that it has been converted to a p28 which will run both motors but if the chip isnt right that can cause a problem. The other thing I have run into is a sensor going bad in the distributor and only effecting the car at higher rpms with no cel. Just a thought.

 

yeah it could be something with distributore cuz one of my frineds said somthing like that today im try it tomorrow see it may helpp cuz i really need to fix this cuz i decide it to go boost 8pounds daily driven
