Please Help. What Ecu should i use in my swap. Harness Problem.
Hey guys. i need some opinions..my car is a 98 Ek Dx, i recently install a ZC pistons in my D16Y7 block. and i put the D16A6 head, with headers, exhaust, CAI, probably i run in 11.3:1 of compression.
well, yesterday , i bought a 93Si gearbox and a ACT combo clutch.
i feel pretty hard when the car goes on 5K rpm to 7K. But i feel that my car need more revvs.. and i installed on it the P2P (Civic EX) , but didnt work it. the revs keep on 4K and dont pass more..
well. i think may be should be a vtec code , well, isnīt a problem.. i can install the solenoid to deceit the ECU and run normal.
The Vtec ecu rev limiter is 7,500rpm. i only gain just 0.500 rpm compared with the orginal ECU.
The question is. Should i use the VTEC Ecu and run with that, because i heard that i will gain more air/gas.. or this change will not work and should i use the stock ecu.??...and the other question is: the Vtec Ecu of a Manual car, has the same air/fuel curve compared in to a Vtec Ecu Automatic Car??
sorry for my english but isnt my native language. Thanks you for any help, it would be great!!...

you should try to find a chipped ecu, or hondata. you changed enough internals to require tuning, and there isn't a stock ignition/fuel map out there for this setup, especially with bolt ons too. the timing/ignition maps are the same between manual and auto ecu's.

i think i didnt have enough internals to look for a hondata...
i only require a P2P chipped, or a P2P stock because the map are more agressive compared with the p2E. .. thank you for the auto/manual map answer .
anyone with the same problem?.. the problem is that i have OBD2 harnesss and isnt easy to find some chipped ecu right here.
The only i ever seen is a Erick Racing. but it was stealed.

your bolt on's (intake, header, exhaust) increase the amount of air that can make it to the cylinders, and the pistons upped your compression, all of which alters your air/fuel ratio. You could be safe on a more aggressive map if it adds more fuel than stock. with your setup and stock ecu, it'll be really easy to lean out and cause detonation. you could even get a vafc to add some fuel, but a chipped ecu or hondata is a lot more reliable. Good luck.
