No way to really ...Check the plugs and oil to see hoe well mantianed it looks ....Maybe take off the valve cover and inspect the valve train and wear ..Good luck

You can attach the battery just to make sure it cranks over. Jumper the starter if you have the tranny attached, and see if the engine falls over

is should run if u got it hooked up right...no matter if its broken or not..so u wont be able to tell if its good or bad until u drive it for the 1st time..

unless theres an obvious rods sticking out the block..

Turn your crank and make sure it spins freely. This will let you know if the engine is seized up or not. Look for any leaky gaskets and replace them before you install the engine....this will save time and money in the long haul.

Default It's easy...no need to bench test... turn the crank... if the crank turns fine then you can do

a compression test if you want to find out the condition of the cyl.'s. If the crank and the cams turn smooth then the engine will run. This does not tell you if the sensors will have to be replaced... or if the motor has a lot of wear on it... but assuming that it has not been taken apart and carelessly rebuilt or damaged (most are fine from engine sources) then you can get it going.

the engine is put on a stand (not an engine stand but more like a cradle), w/ the harness, ecu..the stand has a battery and fuel tank on it and you start it right on the stand...haven't seen any honda motors on one but i've see a bunch of crate motors (350's/v8's) run on them.
