exhaust header on 2000 civic ex 1.6 sohc
i want to change out my stock exhaust manifold (cracked in half) with a header but the converter is in the stock manifold what has to be done to keep the computer from throwing a code for the second o2 sensor after the converter. Or is ther not away to keep it stock by putting a header on my car
i agree that the ex should have the cat under the car, not in the manifold, but if he's looking at a Y7 manifold, then i've got to assume that's what he's got. (could have bought it swapped, DX could have an EX emblem... could be an HX...)
anyway, OP: to do this, you'll basically need to swap out the manifold for the header you want, swap in an EX fitment cat, and EX fitment b-pipe/resonator. you'll just need to pull the primary and secondary O2 sensor wires out of the loom some (and maybe extend the wires) to get them to reach the new location under the car.
this is kind of a good oppertunity to go ahead and do full exhaust...
just make sure you get it all for the EX.
