Searching for a LSD.
Well, to start off and make a long story short. I bought a tranny from a guy about 1.5 years ago for my project. When I first bought it and checked it out, it seemed fine. Unfortunetly, at the time I didnt know to much, was throwing to much money around, and now paying a price for it. Project has been off and on for 2 years. Fast forward to last Friday night. We put my shift linkage in and it wouldnt go into gear. Saturday we find out the inside is completely messed up. (i know. i know. it took way to long....anyways)
Now, Im in search of a new LSD and probably some gears. Mainly after LSD right now. It is a high HP car and dont want to skimp on it. I figure while its apart, I might as well replace the stuff with good stuff. Im thinking Carbonetic Carbon LSD right now. Any other suggestions? Im open right now.

If its high power and for drag, you don't want a clutch type diff. You want a helical type diff. So MFactory or Quaife.
As for gears, either MFactory PRO 1/3/4 and PRO 4.05 FD or PRO 1-4 and PRO 4.05 FD.

Helical uses gears to function, clutch type uses clutch plates. Helical will last longer (never needs to be rebuilt) and clutch type's are likely to break the clutch discs when used for drag racing.
Difference is the material used, PRO gears are much stronger.

How about the WacTrac diff? You have any experience using that one? I have heard nothing but good thing so I bought one too. Seems great for high HP and no maintenance also has Limited LIfetime Warranty.
I think its just the same as any other good helical LSD but with some bling carbon in it. After talking to Autotech at SEMA last year, they couldn't explain how it works differently than a regular helical LSD and I couldn't see how it does.
Do some research, people having problems with axles getting stuck in them, even after Autotech has attempted to repair it several times. Maybe they fixed it with the current batch though.
