Default Help with a possible boost leak

Car wasnt running as fast as it should at the track yesterday. I'm suspecting a boost leak since the only thing i've done to it since last year was a new clutch and a few tiny misc things which required taking the intercooler of. So today i built a boost leak tester...placed it on the intake side of the turbo and went to pressurize it. I heard air rushing out...however it was coming from around my AN fitting on the oil return line right off the turbo. I tried tightening the line which did nothing. Weird bc theres not oil leaks or anything.

Thoughts on how to correct this or try to override it to do the boost leak test??
Should this even be able to happen? Are the turbo seals blown? Just wondering if anyone can help me out. TIA

its most likely a leak coming from where the compressor housing bolts to the center section. look for a missing/loose bolt. what kind of turbo is it? some of the turbos have a big o-ring that goes onto the backing plate before you bolt the compressor housing on. i have seen those o-rings break/leak etc.

look in that area and im confident you will find the leak. also check the connector on the outlet of the comp housing. if that has a tear in it or something it could shoot air in the same location as well, making you think its coming from the oil fitting. good luck

Just had a similar situation on an sc61 on the dyno the other day. From the customer clocking his turbo around the o-ring lost its mojo. Soapy water and a boost leak tester saved the day.
