Default chipped ecu

my ecu is chipped/tuned for 7 psi boost right now and i'm trying to set it back to stock. it looks like this right now...

my question is if i were to take the chip that's circled out, would that set it back to stock settings or do i need to put something back in it's place?

Cut the jumper on J1 and you'll be back on stock parameters

J1 is what enables the EPROM's circuit

Why do you want to go back to stock? Why not just get a base-map chip? That way you won't have a cut wire if you ever want to use the socket again.

You can cut that wire, you'll just have to solder in a new one. Otherwise when you do put in a new jumper, do it the right way with an actual jumper with removable plug.

Or you can get a stock basemap burned on to a different ROM.

Yes.

P.S. It's "crome"

Likes other said, getting a stock basemap burnt to another EPROM chip will make it a little easier for in the future if you to decide to use a chip sometime in the future.

so if i decide to cut J1, all i'd have to do to get the chip to work again is just solder it back in?

if i was you id get a j1 soldered in with a removable dealy so you dont have to keep taking chips in and out. getting chips out will get them messed up and possibly rip out the socket..yeah. i broke 2 good chips last month..oh well

i found out today looking at my ecu again that i can just pop the chip in and out. it's just held in place by a thing that has a flip switch that it slides into.

now, if i just pop the chip out, will i be back to stock or would i have to get a base map chip to put back in?

No.

You will only be on stock settings again by either clipping the jumper at J1, or putting a chip in with the stock basemap on it.

Ask this company:
http://www.phearable.net/contact.html

They sell custom basemaps on another page on their site, but they don't mention stock basemaps. I'm sure if you ask for a stock basemap they can make you a chip with one on it though.

just wondering but if your were running a ob2 to obd1 jumper. if you disconnect the jumper that would automatically put it back to stock parameters right?
