Default 98 Civic EX window issue

OK, so heres the deal the freakin window doesnt go down for the passenger side using the drivers side main switch. If your sitting in the passenger side and you press the window switch down it will work fine. I checked the fuses and there all working and not blown. I switched out the drivers side window switch (the whole unit) and it still doesnt work. I'm stumped... is is the harness that connects to the window switch?

BTW i dont know if it matters or not its a 2DR 98 Civic EX.

Check for a break in the BLU/ORN wire running from the passenger switch of the driver's main window switch to the passenger window switch.

I saw there was electrical tape around that wire but when i took it off it was just the outer covering that was cut not the actual wire.

That wire is almost surely the problem. Using a multimeter, check for lack of continuity between each end located at the driver's and passenger's window switches. If the wire lacks continuity, pull the door panels off to try to locate the break. Concentrate on the area where the wire harness travels from the door to the cabin.

damn i am not good at electrical stuff what so ever. So the wiring harness to the doors does it go through the dash of the car? Thats going to suck if i have to pull off the dash to find the wiring harness!

Not sure if the wire goes behind the dash or on floor under the carpet. Get a multimeter and learn to use it. A multimeter will help you locate the break in the wire. Also inspect the BLU/ORN wire pins in the connectors of the driver's and passenger's switches for damage.

Hey does anyone know if the 96-00 civic ex's use the same harness for the doors. The one i'm particulary talking about is the one that gets covered coming from the door to the side where the fender is. Basically looking at the door when it is opened the only thing covered you see there that is full of wires. I found out that there is a wire that came out of its pin. Its all full of that grease i cant see where to put it. So im just going to go to my junkyard cut one out and resplice it in.
