Crx b16 ..strange smell
specs on your engine? like how old is it, what motor is it and stuff.
the main thing that you should be concerned about is oil burning/leaking valve seals. if you bought the motor from a ricer, most likely the motor has been abused real badly..
usually, when you smell something burning either plastic, oil or coolant, you should always check your ecu connections, oil level, coolant level, or any other signs of a leak.

Did you just put the motor in?
We just finished putting a b16 in my rex and for a week there was a weird smell, but it was more like greasy hands etc from where the motor was put in.

Mine did that for a long time. Just had a strange smell when it got hot. I always assumed it was from constantly being worked on a grease/grime getting on the header, etc. So long as everything works and is not smoking (as in from the engine bay after a hard run).
I do know that if you heat wrapped the header or anything, that stuff stinks as it temp cycles a few times.
But hey, mine stinks like corn now

can you describe the smell more?
Does it just smell bad or does it burn your nose like electrical stuff is smoking?
Is it a new swap?

You might have a pinhole leak in one of your hoses.
It may only be leaking when you put the engine under load - may never see a puddle under the car and it will take a long time for the level to show any significant change in the radiator.
