this isnt something you just want to bypass with a higher viscosity motor oil.

are you sure its "burning" all the oil?

no leaks, anywhere?

If its indeed burning it. You might as well have rebuilt because 10w-30 already is quite thick and is the thickest i would even consider running at all. Have a leakdown done and see how bad it really, but the odds are the rings need to be replaced.

Why do I constantly read threads about B16's burning oil? Are these engines secretly not supposed to be revving at 8,200 or something?

I'm guessing the low power of this engine + loud vtak causes everyone to hit vtak in every single gear.

But anyways, if your car is not leaking, your rings are going, just like everyone else said. Either that, or someone is stealing your precious oil in little amounts every night.

Good luck.

well i just did another oil change just to make my motor last... untill i get a replacement... this time i went to 10w40.....

i;ve been told it may be rings or valve seals... i see leaks on where my head meets the block and also my oil pan to the block...

but i know for sure its burning oil, it has the smell, i just dont know where its burning from, rings or seals...

to replace the rings is too much for me, some shops also recommend rehoning, and thats way to much..
