Default Turbo single cam question

Okay, I was wondering why I can't build any boost in neutral while I'm sitting still, I mean I'm at a light with DSM's, srt4's, evo's, sti's etc and they all rev for a sec then dump and they seem to make quite the amount of boost to dump while in neutral.

I'm running a greddy turbo log mani and 15g turbo with boost controller at 7psi.

oh, I posted this in another section then realized this would probably be a better place to post it.

Thanks.

Bump, do I need a 2 step to make boost in neutral? I know some cars aren't 2 stepping and making boost, but maybe I do?

All of those other cars have a very restrictive turbine housings, run rich from the factory, and have conservative timing at threshold into boost to help with spool. It's an apples vs orangutans comparison.

The local Porsche master tech asshat has a DSM/Honda fetish, the last Integra he brought me for tuning had a ported Evo3 16G that slung 10 psi at 1000 rpms and he could free rev and build boost like a DSM. It's in the turbine vs engine size, with the engine's specific output modifying that relationship a bit.

Thanks for the clarifications

dude if your trying to build boost off the line on street tires on the street your a idiot because you will just spin everywhere. you have a small 15g to that spools instantly which is not gonna help you any. your going to be slower unless you mean you want to use 2 step with slicks at the track but you said at a light so im assuming your on the street

a 2 step wont "build" boost. 2 step isnt anti lag.

It generally won't when you combine it with the oversized turbines most Hondas use. Anti-lag can build >30psi in a short few seconds when done right, even with a large turbo.

FYI if those same OEM's put turbos on Honda engines as stock, they'd barely be T25 turbos, if not baby T2's. They're usually very small turbos to keep the insurance people happy, and make the motor feel like a typical V6 - at least in the united states.

A t3/t4 .57 trim .63 a/r isnt exactly a small turbo, but nor is it a big one...its all how its setup.
