Default 10 psi on 60-1...boy its fast!

I have been tuning like a madman trying to get my car ready to go to the track this weekend, and have been sorting out my mapping on my Haltech. I upgraded from a t3/t4oe w/.48a/r to a 60-1 t3 w/.63 a/r and there is the biggest difference! I am running like 10-11psi on pump gas, stock internals b16a with alcohol/water injection and its soooooo much faster than my old set-up. I have to add a bit more timing up top, and lean it out a bit but right now my car is pulling like mid 12's...hopefully by the end of the night get it pulling like low 12's. I am soooo happy that i switched turbos, there is that much of a difference! And for those that said the 60-1 would be laggy, it pulls very very linear to me, in fact its perfect I get 4-5psi in 1st gear and no wheel spin!

I had a 60-1 on my turbo LS/VTEC setup, at 9.5psi. The car MOVES.
On the video clip in my sig, I was running the 60-1.

Are turbo's easily upgradable? I have a Drag 3 ITR kit, and I was just wondering if I would be able to switch out my turbo if I wanted to...

Yes, you could pretty much make anything that has a T3 exhaust housing work!

I can't wait to put my 60-1 on my car. I just got one from Boosted3g for like 500 bucks and it's watercooled, and only 700 miles of usage!!!! hope it handles the hp I want.

There are several different trims in the T04E family; 50, 54, 57, & 60 trim. The largest, 60 trim can flow up to 53 lb/min whereas the 60-1 can flow 55 lb/min. Not much of a difference.

Hey, with my T3 60-1 I have a goal of about 400-450whp on Race gas, should I stick with the .63 housing or get an .82? and if you say .82 where do I find one?

I am going to be running at Island dragway on friday night...so if any of you guys are going give me a shout...I will be there, white eg hatchback with black slipstreams on it.

I would go with the .63a/r if you are going a streetable turbo, .82a/r if you are going track car.

I make full boost in 2nd gear at 4800rpm...and when it hits, it hits super hard! Its quite a noticable improvement over my previous turbo.

Out to make some more tuning tonight...hopefully break into 300whp range.

Lates.

You may be able to get pretty close to 400 with the .63 A/R Housing, but you will be at the limit of that housing. 450 HP will require the .82 A/R housing. IF you need the housing, I can get it for you! Email me @ louisanaya@hotmail.com

I have been messing around with the T04R's on 2.0 blocks and they absolutly rip. Theya re not that bad with spooling up because it still has a small shaft unlike the T series and it will even out flow a T66.

Hey boosted3g or anyone, can you tell me more about these T04Rs? I have a 2020cc block and looking to boost around 20psi max....14-17psi street. I was thinkin of a T3 60-1 but I'm looking to at least 400hp, race gas of course, and on the track.. Maybe even go for a T4 60-1. But since it'll be street driven..I'm pretty skeptical on their spool times.

Anyone wanna recommend a turbo or just comment?
Thanks!

Is the outer diameter of the comp housing larger than a to4s? Or the same?

thanks

Wait a minute.... lemme get this straight...

My revhard turbo (well garret but whatever) has a turbin of .62 or .63 forget which) and the compressor is obviously a t4 .53 A/R..... you mean to tell me a t3 60-1 makes MORE power then my specific t3/t4??? that wouldn't make sense since my exhaust is the same size and compressor is larger... please correct me if I'm wrong.

Isen't a t3 of any size pretty much the same size as my turbine housing on both sides (turbin and compressor on say a T3 60-1 or not)?
