Default vtec pressure help!!

okay, i'm having problems with my 94 gsr. i install a 95 gsr head and took out my 94 gsr head because of low compression on cylinder 2, after the head swap my compression is now 220 all across, but one thing sucks. when i hit vtec for a while, i would get check engine light 22 which is vtec pressure, also while i'm on 2nd and 3rd gear from 6-8k rpm, it would sometimes climb slow/hard. i replace the vtec solenoid and that wasn't the problem, i did a new oil change and that was not the problem, so what should i do next, the wires are good as well. how do i test for oil pressure? or what other choices do i have besides taking it to a shop.

is it because my head is from a ls vtec, because i remember the seller saying that it came off of a ls vtec. anyone know how to test for oil pressure psi or how to fix it if the head is an ls vtec head?

wow. One of the steps of making a LS/Vtec is to change the way the head is oiled for Vtec. If that procedure was not reversed that is most likely your problem. You should take the head off if you aren't sure.

thats most likely the problem. in order to run lsvtec you need to plug the oil passage in the bottom of the head and drill/tap a new one in the side. if the bottom one is stil plugged than you wont be getting any oil pressure to the vtec solinoid....pull the vtec pressure switch off and have someone crank the motor a few times (unplug the dizzy so it doesnt start) and see if oil comes shooting out, it should if everything is correct. if it doesnt, pull the head and look for a plug screwed into the rear passenger side of the head. if its there, take it out, clean everything off and reassemble, you should be good to go.

if you reassemble be sure to use a new head gasket... a VTEC head gasket.. not an ls one

vtec pressure switch bypass, meaning wiring the vtec pressure to the vtec solenoid right? the damn check engine light came back on, damn it. if i bypass the vtec pressure, would it work since there has to be enough oil coming in for vtec to engage right? how do i check to see if my head is from an ls vtec besides taking the head off.

okay, i took the pressure switch off and there were oil coming out, but when i crank the motor, there were no oil shooting out of the location where the switch goes in. what could be wrong? any other ideas how to check/fix this thing. it was working properly for 3-4 days until i install new cams and then it happens again.
