The dist should not have anything to do with vtec. Are you getting any check engine light?? I remember i had to drive it around for a little while when I put my motor together before vtec would hit.

im running a chipped ecu.the Knock sensor and oil pressure switch for the v-tec have bene disabled. No codes are popping up. I manually engaged the vtec solenoid with 12v and nothing happened. I checked the front port on the left of the gsr head for oil pressure and nothing came up. but the car isnt throwing a code for oil pressure and the car runs fine?. just no vtec. maby the pins are not locking in the head?

you should be able to notice a very distinct diffrerence in the sound when vtec engages itself. The pressure switch in the solenoid is to tell the ecu when to pop the solenoid (green plug), the gray plug (solenoid control) is the one you might want to run a continuity check on real quick...

If you ARE getting it to engage, you also might want to check your injector plugs real quick. That same thing was happening to me and i didn't have my #1 injector plugged in all the way... plugged it in and no problems.

Finally the Motor is runnin great. We dynoed it and pulled 142.83 Hp. with 118.98 Lbs of torque. Not to shabby. it needs a lil tuning cause its rich as a pig but im satisfied. very peppy motor. Just worried about the bottom end. I wont budge over like 7400rpm
