max boost on JRSC on stock motor?
i tried searching but couldnt find anything. i might not be good at searching if someone does reply with a post with the answer but anyways.....i saw what some people ran but was wondering what is the max boost a JRSC stock motor ITR can hold. I am going to have a custom pulleys made and was going to try and get close to max boost without blowing anything up.
im currently running the upgraded boost setup from JR. it is the bigger crank pulley and the 3.8" (8psi) blower pulley. the stock one that comes from JR is a 4.2" blower pulley (4psi).
i am wanting to get a 3.4" blower pulley which should yield at the most 12psi i believe since i am only changing the blower pulley not the crank as well. flaws in application?
any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks

IMO, I'm going to say 11-ish psi on 550cc injectors. I personally would be afraid to go smaller than the 4.0 blower pulley for fear of belt slippage. A stepper pulley on the alt. would be good along with a GSR crank pulley. That would put you close to 10 psi.
Remember the key to not blowing up is the tune!!! You should be able to make 250-ish WHP safely with a good tuner who knows what he is doing.
Search for a thread on here by the screen name "Caranjo" It's like 400+ pages long. Read the first few pages and you will read about my old SC'd set up and it will give you plenty of ideas for what route you want to take.

yeah but its quite expensive for me currently and i dont want my car to be out of commission.
i have methanol injection to help with cooling and extra power so i never saw a need for it as well.
i considered both when making my decision and stuck with the methanol instead

The JRSC starts to loose pumping efficiency at higher blower speeds. I doubt you'll see much more than 12psi regardless of the pulley combination. This is safe on a stock motor ASSUMING proper fuel system modifications and good engine management/tuning.
Truth!
Some may differ from my opinion but a well tuned JRSC can make C5 a street terror and a ton of fun to drive. I had a blast with mine and was a great first time experience in the world of boost but I'll probably never do another one.
Just remember meth injection will help keep it cooler especailly for autocrossing as boost temps get hot quickly in high RPM's.
