Default ecu question

My buddy is parting out his turbo kit and it is practicly the same set up I am goin to run, stock internal d16y8 on 8 lbs. The only difference between mine and his set up is that I am going to use a garrett gt25r turbo and he used a 14b from a dsm. Question is, would I be able to buy his ecu and injectors and just plug and play? This would save me alot of money on skipping the whole getting my car tuned process. I don't see why not sense it is a identical setup except for our turbos are slightly different but they are still both a t25. He also daily drove this set up for almost 3 years and made 200hp even on 7lbs.

You'll probably need some fine tuning...every engine is different

You can NEVER replace a good tune.

called the shop, they said I can put it in and drive it fine just not to get on it and they want me to come down and get a retune just to be safe and it will only cost 150 for the retune instead of 450 for a full blown tune.
