Icon6 Driver's side axle removal

Somebody got any pointers for removing the driver side axle from the intermediate shaft? Stupid helms says hit it with a plastic hammer...hahaha, yeah, that will work.

Mine is stuck on good. I already removed the axle from the hub, it's just the intermediate shaft holding it on.

I thought I was out of the "frustration zone" after removing the axle nut and popping the ball joints...who would have thought this would be the ringer.

i just use a regular hammer and keep hitting while pulling very slightly, you don't want to pull too hard and the shaft pops out of the joint

or you can remove the (3) 14mm bolts on the block that hold the intermediate shaft and remove the whole unit from the transmission, but be prepared to leak some transmission fluid
