Default What could cause me not to boost--electrical or mech?

Post tuck, motor is a Z6, OBD1 EF. When I take the car out the first time, it boosts great. I get one pull, then after that, it won't boost at all. Is there anything electrical that could possibly keep me from boosting? I've racked my brain thinking and I can't come up with anything. Only thing I can think of is maybe a bad AVCR solenoid holding the gate open. It may not be electrical but I have no idea whats going on lol.

Couplers are all tight, wastegate isn't stuck open (with car off anyways), pulled it off and the fire ring is there. Any suggestions of stuff to check? There's no a/c, and the under side of the dash has been stripped (no heater core/fan controls/condenser), but all the plugs are still there.

Make a boost leak tester, check google, they will cost you like 10 to make, that will help you source.

possible boost leak.

my homie had the same problem with his mkiii supra. what happened was we did the engine swap and accidently gouged one of the lower intake piping, and damaged intercooler piping, but we did smell exhaust leak.........

how we got to the conclusion:

we tweaked the ssbov and it helped a bit with boost, yet we were still low. Changed all the spark plugs, etc, you know a whole tuneup. After the end result we had a friend diagnose the car, and there was a long slit in the rubber hoses. :/ stupid. after that it ran like 13 seconds stock

Well I just took off the AVCR solenoid, and ran the vacuum line straight from the turbo to wastegate, and it holds ~10psi perfect. Wiring on the solenoid is good, just tested that, so I'm looking up the vacuum diagram to see if I just had the vacuum lines switched from the solenoid to the wastegate. Would make sense, since it's probably holding the wastegate open instead of shut.

So wiring is all fine, and I had the right lines coming off the solenoid hooked up. Guess my solenoid just crapped out. There's a local guy who has an extra one so I'll pop that in and see if that fixes it.

Okay, so you are using an electronic boost controller, correct? Is your wastegate internal, or external? I have read a few things on hooking those things up and it's different vacuum routing for external and internal wastegates.

AVCR with external TiAL gate. Vacuum routing is all correct. Vacuum line from turbo to bottom of gate with a T going to the NC port of the solenoid. The COM port on the solenoid routes to the top of the wastegate. NO on solenoid is open to atmosphere. My solenoid was bad. Hooking the the working solenoid tomorrow.

Back up. Got the other solenoid in and it boosted great. However, fast forward to today, same freakin thing again.

Try to boost, and there's the clicking again, almost metallic/relay-ish, my guess is it's the wastegate. Solenoid isn't letting me boost again now. If I completely bypass the solenoid and run just off the wastegate, it works fine. So I know it's not a wastegate problem.

Any ideas??? I'm stumped. Guess I'll check for power to ground, or shorted wires.
