idle problem

Default idle problem

I have a 98 Honda civic lx. when i first got the car the idle was really low so i adjusted it.. i drove it for a wile then it started idling at 3k and the dropping to 1k and going up and down constantly like there's a leak somewhere. what can this be?? thankss

do u have a check engine light if so go get it checked if not ive cleaned my idler out with sea foam and let it soak and then it worked fine or u might need a new one

a ****ed up sensor
or your low on coolant

check your idle air control valve located on your intake manifold

i have the same problem,no codes,checked for vacum leaks i cleaned the iacv. what else could be the cuase..

a vac leak. start the car take some starter fluid and WITH the nozzle spray a little bit along where u have gaskets IE...IM, TB, maybe ur throttle cable is too tight? could be a lot of things. oh and try this. start the car and let it warm up and let it do its stupid idle thing. take off ur short ram or cai and cover the bottom whole on the TB, do this and reply to what it did

that too, air in the coolant system. most car have a bleeder valve, should be comming out the front of the head.
