Default PSI question

Hey H-T I am new to the boosted portion of honda motors. I have had 3 different swaps in my EJ1 and just built a motor for boost and got it running and boosted a lil bit over a month ago. I am currently running with a 10.15 spring in a tial 38mm WG and when it was tuned at 9.5psi making 306whp. I am looking to bump up the pressure to maybe 12psi but possibly more. my question is what is safe to run on a gsr w/ ls pistons, crank and rods, all arp fasteners with a t3/t04e .54 trim turbo? i would like to get as close to 350whp as possible and still be safe. i have read around on the forum alot and 12psi seems to be my point where i should stop. thanks for the input.

12 psi will be ok with your lower compression as long as you get a good tune. Many people are running 500whp on stock sleeves, I wouldnt do it but others are. I think 350 is a good number to stop at but you are going to be pushin OEM honda pistons at that point

Dont get a block guard.

How do you run lower boost than your waste gate spring?

Ive had a LS with arp head studs and stock bottom end on 17 psi still going strong.

I smell an Autometer boost gauge or a boost leak...

He may be running a boost reference source, other than a vacuum source, and he may be seeing a psi drop from the IC. My 10.5 spring did the same thing, 9.5 psi.

OP, dont base your goal on psi alone, your tuner will use whatever psi your setup will take to make 350 whp. Just make sure the tune is spot-on.

weird you say that cause i have an autometer gauge. no boost leaks i have checked.

as said above about the IC i have never heard of that but nice to know. I am using a vaccuum source strait off the IM for the gauge. When i run it open downpipe it registers like .5 psi more boost.

I have an amazing tuner... he has run a y8 vitara setup on 29psi for 2 years now no problems and is at 500whp running 10.3 in the 1/4. Im sure i can run a 14.5 spring and be safe and reach my goals. I just would hate to have it blow as it is my only car and being a college student/baseball player money is tough to come by. thanks for the input

Do you have arp head studs, rod bolts, main studs etc? what do you mean "all arp fastners?

If it were my car and I wanted a reliable boosted dd, I would invest on some rods, pistons, rod bearings.
