Default p2w clearances

Hey guys ive done some searching and it lookks like ill be fine but i wanted ur opinions. I have a sleeved b16a2 block and when im measuring aftermarket forged pistons the p2w clearences come out to .006. i know thats a little loose. but im gonna be shoving a lot of boost in this motor and it not going to be a daily or even near it. what you guys think?

how much power are you looking to make?
what kind of pistons?

....how are you measuring ? are you just taking the diameter of the cylinder and subtracting the piston diameter and getting .006.......or are you getting .012?

The short version...

I ran a set of endyns at their spec (.0032) At 600 WHP on a known good tune, Pistons ate the walls.

This time Went with CPs and .0045 P2W.. RAPED the **** out of it for 10K miles.... Ran GREAT... Had to take it apart and check the motor after a mis shift overrev... pistons were MINT... HAd a straight hone done to it, P2W came out to .006 on reassembly.

This is in a H22 with 87.5mm bore... The rings ended up being PERFECT with no filing...

Car is a LITTLE loud when its cold, but Its not that bad. At all.. Thgis is in a car thats driven on the street every time its nice out.

Thats My .02

FWIW...

CLIFFS:

Im at .006 with NO issues.... Motor makes GREAT power. Turning up the wick and going for 700 WHP nest week. Im at 620ish now...

I also made the mistake of setting my p2w clearance to Wiseco's spec of .0025in. My car was having some cooling problems and it over heated slightly and I cracked 2 pistons. I rebuilt it with CPs and went with .0045. I recently pulled the head and the cylinder walls look good. If its an all out race motor then .006 would work but I would bring it down to around .0045 for a street motor.
