Default I think I'm gonna be pissed off. Block needs re-bore; pistons too small?

Recently I ordered a GE sleeved block from renoracing. He said it had an 85mm bore. Well, I just got my set of cp 85mm pistons, and I think that they are too small for the bore. They move around a little in the bore, is that normal? Also, the rind end gap is huge, its something like .06". I'm just guessing at this figure, because the largest feeler gauge that I have is .028" and that is wayyyyy to small. I only opened one piston and set of rings, and tried them in every cylinder and they are all the same. So I guess I have to get another set of 85.5mm pistons and re-bore the block right? UGHHH, I'm so pissed if this is the case, I wanted to have my car running by this week. Also, do you guys think that this bore (85.5mm) will be too big for alot of boost, I mean around 25psi on race gas?

The first and third pics show the gap, and the second is to show the feeler I was using. When I place that in between the gap, it looks like I can fit almost three in there.

Well, I am almost positive that I need to re-bore it, so where can I get it bored in NY? I don't wanna ship the block out, and I'd rather go to a shop that won't rip me off.

Go get a set of calipers and measure it to be certain. Personally I would try and sell the block, and start off fresh with some new sleeves that you know what size they are.

85mm is pushing it with boost..i would avoid boring @ all costs.

I am gonna sell the block, and buy a stock sleeved b16. I called race engineering and they will allow me to exchange my pistons for another set of cp's, so maybe I'll try and set a stock sleeve record lol. Anyone want the GE sleeved block?

The reason I am selling it is because 85.5mm pistons are on back order until 8 weeks from now. that sucks.

Call Golden Eagle Mfg. about this. My old block/sleeves were .0015 over but that was no problem.

This isn't the first time i have heard of this. My mechanic had a GE block sent out and the same **** happened. He had to bore it out to 84mm from 83mm cause they fawked it up.

It sucks!

Well, I'm selling it, I think I can achieve my power goals (450-500whp race gas, and 300-350whp 93octane) on stock sleeves with these parts, what do you guys think:

CP pistons (should I stick with 81mm and re-hone, or bore and go to 81.5mm?)
Turbo tuff full race rods
ARP headstuds
ACL main bearings
OEM water pump, oil pump, crank, timing belt
Fluidamper harmonic balancer
Stock GSR head
Venom sheet metal intake manifold
Cometic head gasket
ACT streetlite flywheel
Action 2md clutch

BTW, I would go to a gsr block, but I just spent all my money on these b16 parts!

Ohh yea, the thing that I don't understand is, How did renoracing have the block running when it came out of the car? The bore is clearly too large right? Here is the link to when I bought the block, he said it spun a rod, or main bearing and he was forced to get a new crank, so he just sold the block.
