Default Hondata S300 "auto tune"

I'm not sure what to call this. I did it once by accident awhile ago when I was attempting to tweak my tune. The ECU cleared the map and then started filling in the figures for the fuel based on the suggested A/F's it had been programmed with. Basically, I saw this again on a friend's new version of DSM tuning software and It reminded me.

Anyone know what I'm talkinga bout a little more in detail? It was basically "auto tuning" my cruise fuel trims for me. Is there a downside to doing this? Any info would be appreciated.

This is on a sc61'd GSR btw. I'm just trying to get the bottom end worked out in regards to the tune. Ty.

The downside is that it isnt real tuning...

Letting the computer interpret data it doesnt know much about will only get you so far.

For part throttle idle and cruise...get it close manually, then enable the O2 sensor and closed loop.

Use datalogging & cell tracing to do your tuning.
Like chris said auto tune is not the correct way to tune a vehicle
