Default HELP transmission problem after install

So yesterday i put the tranny on the car, never done it before but it seemed like it went on smooth, then i get into the car and it only goes into 1st and 2nd gear and reverse, I mess with it and get it in 3rd now it wont get out of 3rd. Did I do something wrong when installing it? This is my daily driver so any suggestions would help!

it could possibly be a bad tranny, was your clutch and pressure plate in good conditions when you took it out.

i didnt take it apart. My old tranny had a bad input shaft bearing so i put a different one on. I put the car back on the ground and had tried to drive it in first to see if it would drive and it just revs up when i try to drive it does that mean my clutch is bad? before i took it apart it acted like the clutch was slipping really bad but i was told that couldve just been the input shaft bearing cause we knew it was bad already
