Default GRS Tranny, B16a, Eg HELP

bought a car today, has a b16a in it professionally installed and a gsr tranny. Has a stage 3 competition clutch. When you put it in second it grinds loud and when you go to shift if you leve it in neutral and wiggle it and then go into 2nd it goes in no problem but it wont let you go in straight from 1rst...

What could be the problem...?
HELP HELP HELP FIRST CAR...
Thanks in advance

What happens when you downshift from 3rd to 2nd?

What kind of transmission fluid?

When going from 3rd to 2nd, try rev-matching the gear. If it goes in smoothly, it is most likely a synchro issue.

What kind of fluid is in there...?

Many people say the GM Synchromesh helps with minor grinds, but if its as bad as you say the transmission will most likely need a rebuild. I have always used genuine Honda MTF.

Try changing out the fluid before doing anything drastic.

Like stated above. Try the gm synchromesh. if it dont work get a new trans. Unless your confident enough to tear one apart.

if after you change the fluid and it doesnt help, you probably have some syncro issue....that being said, you will definitely have to crack that open if you are confident enough to do that, or you can just opt to find another used/or rebuilt one, or even bring it to a reliable shop to do it....if you are going to buy one, try to find one w/ an LSD--ITR, CTR, or any usdm with an aftermarket one installed...do things right the first time so you dont regret yourself later
