bell noise? Does your car have an aftermarket intake on it? How hard do you have to press the gas to hear the sound?

This is going to sound tupid but it sounds like a cricket. when im in speed i just hit the gas a little and you hear it but it goes away when i let off th gas. yes i do have an aftermarket intake. It doesnt grind when going into the gear it sounds more of metal rubbing sound. Like a bad throwout bearing??

The "cricket" sound is more than likely your intake. Mine did it all the time. Even changing the filter didn't help it, so I just turned my radio up so I didn't hear it anymore.

Yea one thing you could look at is make sure all of your clamps on your intake are tight and there isnt a small leak somewere whistleing. The intake on my d15 when it was still in my car would sound like a boat horn when i shut the car off.

almost every car i hve had whistled when i put a intake on it .. but my new hatch has a full wire tuck and the map sensor was on the pass floor board area and the thing besides the map sensor i think its the purge solenoid valve ... it didnt have a hose connected on it and it would whistle .. so i just put that back in the engien bay and re-run hoses and it stopped the whistle

i believe its the transmission itself. mine does the same thing.
"whines" in every gear if you keep it at a steady speed.
don't know what can fix it beside having the tranny rebuild but music helps me out during long road trips.

Have you checked the fluid levels??? It could be caused by either improper level of transmission fluid or what type of transmission fluid. Its worth a shot. Or it basically can be something that you will always hear.

my whistleing sound is my intake, if i adjust the idle control it goes away, if its set kinda low when u accelerate it will whistle. kinda sounds like its a really faint turbo spool.....doesent bother me! lol.
