rubbing noise from passenger side
Hi. I have a 99 Civic LX and when I give I place my foot on the gas I hear a rubbing noise coming from the passenger's side at the front. I have a manual tranny. When I put the car in first gear and let out the clutch I don't hear the rubbing noise but as soon as I give it some gas I can hear the noise. Similarly, when I switch to second gear and I let out the clutch I don't hear the noise but as soon as I give it some gas I can hear the noise. Also, I can hear the noise more often when it's cold outside. Especially in the morning when I start up my car I can hear the noise, it's cold outside now in winter. The noise goes away in 3rd gear, 4th, and 5th gear. What is the problem?

Re: (GSR_hatch936)
I don't know where the noise is coming from. It seems to come at random times but it usually comes on in first gear when I accelerate and 2nd gear when I accelerate. I can also hear the rubbing sound in the morning when it's cold outside. It doesn't make the noise when I turn.
