ECU's that dont prime the fuel pump
Some OBD1 ecus i have came across have there fuel pump circuitry fried. it can usually be from one of the big electrolitic capacitors going bad. I had tried replacing all the capacitors on some ecu's. sometimes im lucky and the problem will be fixed, other times im stuck with an ECU that doesnt prime the pump. a quick fix will be to open the under side of the ecu and fine pins A7 (fuel pump. A8 is also the fuel pump since A7 and A8 are connected to each other) what u want to do is break the circuit trace from A7 going back to the IC chip on the top left hand corner of the ecu. just follow the trace on A7 on the circuit boards, take a small screw driver and cut the trace (u can try a soldering iron as well to break the circuit). Now that the circuit is broken, take pin A7 and solder a jumper wire from it to a ground on the ecu (i used pin A23 or A24). this should now prime the fuel pump. (note: doing it like this will have the fuel pump prime all the time. it wont shut off)
You don't want the pump on if the car is not running, in the event of an accident and the engine has stalled, you want the pump to stop.
You could do it also off a number of the other general purpose outputs also with a relay.
Cool research in to that though.
