00 R W/ Neptune and a CYP CEL, Help
Just installed my new Neptune ECU in My R, With a Phearable OBD2b to OBD1 harness, downloaded an P30 stock map to start street tuning, The car runs for 1 min then throws a code 9 for Cylinder Position code. Im wondering if it is the harness. So I call Phearable and they quote, " In the 500 sold we have never had any problems. Then what is the deal cause it does it on both S300 and Neptune RTP.? What up with OBD2B.
We have never seen 1 single conversion harness with any issues, however anything is possible.
Grab the helms manual and follow the trouble code 9 diagnostics.
If everything tests ok, perform a continuity test between the obd2 side and obd1 side of the conversion harness if you think there is an issue (highly unlikely as they are 1 to 1 tested before shipping).
My bet is that there is an issue with the distributor or distributor wiring.

Honestly it runs perfect stock, so dont know. The car is immaculate. Has never gave me any problems, no cel,s . Just trying to narrow it down. I would like the Neptune and the harness.
I believe I spoke with you about this issue a month or two ago?
I informed you that we would be happy to swap the harness out if you are positive it is the harness, however it is unlikely considering the fact that they are tested.
Anyhow, to test to make sure there are no issues with the harness: Using a multi-meter test the continuity between the obd2 side and obd1 side of the harness on the wires related to the ignition system.

I have another Ecu, that is socketed by Skunk2 ,an OBD 1 computer, with there program. I installed that computer and it runs BUTTER w/ your harness. Is their something different with obd2b and converting over to Hondata or Neptune, or are both those computers I used screwey. We have a couple or race cars. A crx and A eg hatch and it will not throw that code on those particular cars., with those particular ECU,s. WE tried those particular computers in my Type-r. I also have a plug and play harness for AFC2 , (from boomslang) and no codes are thrown on that harness in my 00 TYPE-R. I will continuity check it like you say. But it is hard to say when the socketed computer works and the Neptune and Hondata Throw a CYP code.

but the car runs fine on the stock ECU and also the chipped ECU; so it should not be the distributor. Yes I do want Neptune or Hondata or anything else, That is all we use. Man this sucks.
On top of possibly being altered, 99% of the "skunk" chips use a different base code than what NepTune and Hondata run. If a code is there with two EMSs, it's likely a real problem regardless if something else doesn't think so.
