Help with Code 9
I have a 96 JDM H22 with a OBD2 to OBD1 conversion in my 94 Accord. My distributor bearing was starting to go, so I replaced it. The part numbers are the same on them (TD-60U), but I'm having some trouble. Now, when I start my car, I throw code 9 (CYP). I have no idea why! I've tried adjusting the position of the distributor, no luck. Also, I've had an idle problem since the engine swap. It's up and down, and sometimes evens out. I always thought it was the fast idle valve, but now, with this new distributor, it's up and down for a bit, then evens out, and stays even...but when it evens, I throw the code. I don't know where to go from here.

you'll want a helms manual to clarify what i'm talking about but first order of business is to take a multimeter to the CYP pins on the dist. harness.
unplug the 4-pin harness that runs from the wiring harness to the distributor. measure the resistance between pins 2 and 4, this should read anywhere between 160 to 400 ohms resistance. (Use the 2K or 20K setting on the ohmmeter when you do this). If resistance is low, the wiring within the distributor is shot, and you need a new dist housing/dist. this is the most common cause for a code 9, try it and get back to us.
if it's not the dist, it's the harness/connectors.
