what does sleeving do to your block????

Default what does sleeving do to your block????

my block is sleeved from previous owner but what does it do??? im new into engine rebuilds..

it makes the cylinder walls thicker, to make it more resistant to cracking due to the hp and heat. if its a shitty tune the heat may still crack the walls though

so is the bore still gonna be the same after a sleeve????? ex: b20 is 84mm n after sleeve is it still 84mm???

if it has a good reputable sleeve such as: aebs, darton, golden eagle, ect. then you can always through anything at it. People with h22's (in short) just sleeve the block, put rods and pistons in it with a big turbo and have seen over 800hp easy

Yes it is, but theres a limit you can over bore them. golden eagle recommend you dont go over 89mm in h-series (stock is 87mm)

The bore may or may not still be the stock size. I installed Darton sleeves and bored my 75mm D16 to 78mm.

yea bc im not sure how big my bore is now... ANYWAY i can check it??? how to measure??? how to be Accurate bc i heard u have to be very accurate

get a inside diameter micrometer, or just take the block a machine shop and they could measure it easy an tell you

no... motor is still in car... taking ti off tomorrow.. i dont know any machine shop where i live LOL.. any brand name machine shop that might be wolrd wide??
