Icon2 chipped ecu vs ems?

i'm not sure if the title is correct to the question i'm going to ask so here goes.

at what point in a build or the sense of build you motor do you feel that a ecu/chipped ecu isn't enought that you need to go into ems like VEMS or MoTec.

i'm not doing a turbo but a all motor build. so will it be enough to use software like Hondata, etune, crome or just bypass them and go straight to a ems.

i hope i kind a explain it correctly. cause the truth is i'm lost in this area. please by all means leave some input.

thanks

read a previous post here (cant remember the link or what i searched under) about how the only real advantage of EMS over NepTune/hondata was coil overs. dont know how accurate that was but if boosted applications do well on chipped i'm sure all motor would too since there's less factors and waht not.

There are cars running hondata, neptune, ectune that are making 800 whp.

The only real reason you would need a stand alone is if you wanted coil on plug technology, multiple injector outputs (for 8 injectors). Etc...

so do you feel C.O.P. are worth it? in sense there's a member from another forum that used VEMS and ran CBR600RR cops and elimated the distributor in all. here' pics of his engine.

It all depends on the power goals etc. I wish every honda came with COP technology.
