Trouble Restarting
I am having a problem with my 92 civic DX. I can drive around just fine, but if I make a stop at the store for a few minutes and then try to start the car, it won’t start. It cranks away, but never catches. I have to wait a half hour, give or take, before it will start. Any ideas about what the problem might be?
It is a manual transmission. The last time this happened I drove it to the muffler shop to have the muffler replaced. That was a mile away so it hardly got warmed up. I dropped the car off, walked to Target, while I was in there about 5 minutes the shop called and said they couldn't start the car. Waited 15 minutes and it started.
I was thinking that maybe one or more of the injectors are leaking by and flooding the cylinder(s) making it hard to start. When it does start you can really smell the gas.
your main relay could have bad solder connections, causing intermittent failure to supply fuel to the engine.
another possibility is loose battery terminals or a bad battery
