Ex/Si cluster in CX not working..
Hey guys i just put a new Ex/ Si gauge cluster in my 92 cx because i wanted a tach. The tach doesnt seem to be working though. the cluster is brand new, is there something i need to wire up to get the tach working on this? I was thinking they were plug and play. thanks for any help guys.

Check that the plugs are in the right places and that the tach wire from your distributor is good.
The plugs are all snug my man ive taken it out and put it back in a few times now and still nothing. everything on it works except the tach. anyone else?

IIRC, it's blue. There should be a junction by the drivers side shock tower for it. It should be a single blue wire with a black cap on it.
I just went and found the wire. It was capped off and just sticking out of the rest of the wiring harness. Im guessing that wire needs to be going somewhere...? Thanks so far guys! what now!

That is the tach test wire, its there for a tech to plug in an external tach for diagnostic work. Check the distributor, make sure it has a blue wire coming from it. The EX/Si cluster is 100% plug and play, there is no wiring you need to do, i've installed several of them in numerous civics.
Yes there is a blue wire coming from the distributor. All the wires are taped up so what do i need to do trace that wire all the way to the cluster? Anyone with any other ideas? Ive put in clusters in before never dealt with this before, it must be something deeper than just plugging it in.
I've done exactly that yesterday but the RPM gauge might be a little problematic (not working, lag, etc.). As mentioned above it's 100% plug-and-play.
Was the hardware completely legit before being transplanted into your car ? I mean was it working correctly before ?
BTW : I've seen a lot of people opening their clusters up to put some fancy gauges and all, messed with the needles a little bit, and it broke. It could simply electrical.
