Anyone know how to wire a tach?
I have a 93 cx w/out factory tach. someone said that the blue wire on the drivers side strut tower was used cause right now it has a plug on it but is not going to anything! where does this wire go if it is used. i did the swap but have no idea about wiring a tach and could not find anything of use in the "search"

on the back of your gauge cluster there is a plug on the left side if you are looking at the front of your cluster. it is prewired for a tach even though you dont have one. unplug all the harnesses from the back of your cluster and take it out and spin it around so you are looking at the back. now you will be locating the hole to the far right(since you spun the cluster around) there will be a bunch of little gold colored lines running out of each little hole. there will be one hole that has a wire that runs into it on the harness but the little gold line coming out just stops. that is the tach wire. you slice into it. black wire to a ground. find a constant power source for the power and hook the illumination one up to a wire coming out of your dimmer switch. test it to see if you have the right wires before you put everything back together. it is hard to explain but not real hard to figure out. good luck
