Default how do poorman type r run

i was thinking of doing a b18c1 bottom block with a b16 head w/b16 piston i was wondering how fast is it compare to a stock b16 or a b18c1 gsr?

Put ctr pistons at least. Will make you realize how torque less your b16 is. And should beat a gsr.

I'm pretty sure even with the b16 pistons you will lose compression and make less power than a b16 or a b18c1... You would need to get some type r pistons...

b16 pistons & rods in b18c1 block with b16a head =5.43cr?
So at least get b18c1 rods and type r pistons and a 1 layer hg.
But still pretty dumb.

i think with a proper tune your engine set up would be closer power wise to the GSR than the B16

save up and buy some cheap used ITR pistons if you want a poor mans ITR.

But even with the ITR pistons you still lack the the goods that make an ITR worth anything to the aftermarket world

your missing

ITR tranny with LSD (most important)
highly sought after ITR cams (my favorite cam to boost and the only reason i have ITR anything)
ITR intake manifold....flows a little better than the b16
ITR header...your not gaining anything with that blinging ebay header

I have a JDM ITR and personally....it sucks. The only thing i like about an ITR swap is the LSD tranny and a good set of cams to boost later down the road. Hince the term Hype R

hmotors has CTR pistons for like 160 shipped or something like that. brand new, in box, with wrist pins.
I'd go with the CTR pistons on the B18C1 rods. It'll bump the compression up. Just make sure theres no piston to valve interference..

iono i just did a bunch of calcs on the ****. For a poor man's type R he would have to use CTR rods unless he used a GSR crank. Otherwise the CR would be too low. Unless hes talking about building an ITR in which case i was just not paying attention when I did my first calculations.
