what do you guys think of a GSR motor with b16 pistons....and do you have any reccomendations on what will be the best head to use (plan on turbo charging in the future)

According to ZealWorks, it will give you an 11.28/1 compression ratio. Im not sure how it would work with a turbo, but thats using B18C1 everything and PR3 Pistons.

Use LS pistons if you plan on boosting. The b16 compression is to high. You want the lowest compression you can when boosting, thats like rule number 1.

will b16 pistions be good for non turbo??? will it run something like the CTR block

It will show you how everything will work together. CTR anything is pain to get a hold of and will cost lots.

B16 block and different head( maybe b18 head or something)

GSR 1.8L vs B16 1.6L. You take a guess which most people would prefer.

There is a minimal difference b/w the two heads.

Not necessarily. People do boost stock ITRs and run well/long

But yeah I'd probably just stick with P72 pistons. Not too low, not too high compression

Keep the stock pistons and put the money you'd be wasting on them toward your future turbo project. Plenty of people boost stock GSRs to great effect. You have to tune it regardless, so you might as well tune it on the stock compression and get better response.

I personally would go with a b18c1 block with a b16 head. The b16 head flows better and it also has a better intake manifold.

If you want to go turbo go with any b18 block and run LS pistons for lower compression, or buy low compression pistons.

B16 pistons would be ok for a na setup but if you want to go NA run some type R pistons. Real ctr pistons will put your compression ratio around 14:1 so no it will not run like a ctr.

the valve relief placement on the ls pistons is not going to be compatible with your motor.

boost it stock because no matter what oem piston you'd go with, its still not forged and it won't take an insane amount of hp before it melts.

if you plan on staying a street car, just stick with your stock pistons and do headwork for the best balance of power/reliability.
