you're fine its most likely just a dead battery. The cold kills batteries. Make sure when you are jumping it that you clean teh corrosion off of the battery terminals so taht you get a good connection and also let it charge for a few minutes. If your battery is completely toast it may not even start by jumping it. you might just have to buy a new battery and take the hit.
when people think its the battery thats wrong it really isnt...its mostlikely your alternator.. but i could be wrong take the alternator to a autozona and make sure its working good.. good luck
The battery's job is to provide power for starting, and to absorb excess current draw while running accesories. The alternator's job is to recharge the battery when the engine is running as well as supply current for accesories. Don't assume a no crank condition means the alternator needs replacement. Make sure the battery is receiving a charge and can hold that charge first.

Thank you Perfectionist. The alternator has nothing to do with the car not starting.
I remember when you used to post more.
I have had good luck leaving the "donating" car running for a while in effect charging the "recieving" cars battery enough for it to start.
As stated, it may need a new battery.

yea the battery is fine i'm sure, its a brand new OPTIMA Yellow Top and those are supposed to be top-of-the-line batteries (better be for over 200 bucks lol)
plus its still under warranty.
it just went dead because of the REALLY cold temps we had, around negative 20 degrees for at least 5 days and like i said it hadnt been started in a couple weeks before it even got REALLY cold but it was still real cold for those couple weeks

take it for a hour long cruise and let it charge back up or hook it up to a battery charger cuase if you dont give it a good charge it will just slowly die again.
