Idle issue after cleaning manifold with mass air flow sensor a
Hey,
I just tried this,
I went out looking for throttle body cleaner to spray into my manifold to clean it.
I saw they had a caution label that read not safe for sensors.
so I bought mass air flow sensor cleaner instead since it had the same ingredients just safe for sensors.
so I spray the whole bottle in their, throttle body and all.
I let it sit 10 minutes, then go to start it, it won't start, so I wait another five minutes.
finally it starts, and is running real good.
I go for a ride and I see at a stop my idle is jumping from 1200 to 800
My idle was fine before this.
Is this normal?
Do I have to let it lean out or something?
Thanks.

either you've got a vaccum leak, or possibly spraying all that cleaner in there has clogged up your iacv. assuming you don't find an air leak first, pull the iacv off the back of the intake manifold and spray it out with brake parts cleaner. then shake all the cleaner out and let it dry for a bit before reinstalling.
iacv? I hope that's the only thing that could be bad.
You don't think that stuff can get into other places and mess them up?
Like the brake booster?

nope. all air lines attached to the intake manifold are vaccum lines, and so is the big line to the brake booster. so anything sprayed into the intake manifold is being pulled away from everything else.
I will see how it runs tomorrow, and clean the iacv if it needs it.
It's only two bolts and a hose.
But does anyone have a writeup?
That stuff clogs? The label said it evaporates.
Maybe one whole bottle was too much
Oh, ;et me describe my idle
It stays at 1200 for a while then goes down

most likely. but since i don't have your car sitting here in front of me there's no way to be certain. and yea theres a writeup for cleaning the iacv.
