idle problem. help!
i have a b20z in my ej8. after a few minutes of the car being on, the idle goes up to 1500 or so and goes back down.
it does this constantly when im in neutral whether im coasting or at a stop.
a shop told me it was something with the throttle body..
what do you think ht?
thanks

Re: idle problem. help! (jimmy o.)
just take your Idle Air controll valve off and clean it with carburettor cleaner. its located on the intake manifold, it has two coolant lines on the bottom, disconnect those, then undo the connector on the sensor, take out the two 12mm bolts and bam! spray it all out with cleaner and let let dry, then clean out the holes on the intake manifold and clean the throttle body. make sure the screen on the Idle air control valve is free and clear. then put it back together.the idle air control valve should be cleaned periodically.
