Default vafc

Can someone explains more clearly and the basic of the wide throttle setting and narrow throttle setting and the throttle position and the ne point on the vafc? Also how would the fuel be engagin if lets say i'm in the L-H @4000rpm -3 at wide throttle adjustment and the H-L@4000rpm -2 at wide throttle adjustment also. Would it be reading like this at the low to high cam @4000rpm its leanin fuel @-3 and then at high to low cam its leanin fuel @-2? Is that how its reading? Whats the difference between wide throttle and narrow throttle settings? Thanks for all feedback.

The wide and narrow throttle settings are the fuel adjustments that the AFC sends to the ecu when your in one of those ranges. Wide and narrow ranges are set in the AFC in one of the menus. I forget which one but it's the one that says "Lo 10% and Hi 50%. Those are the default readings. When the TPS reads that your are at or above 50% then it sends the fuel adjuments for that range to the ecu.
I may be wrong..so if i am someone please correct me.

Wide throttle settings are for aggressive driving. That is where you need to adjust fuel when you except power. I have the narrow throttle leaned out on my car for fuel econmy. My friends car was chipped, it idled shitty and the high end was too rich. The vafc cleaned up the idle, made more high end power, and got better gas milage.

In the fuel correction part, the fuel curves that the ecu uses are different between vtec and no vtec. If you're in vtec and the ecu thinks its not, the fuel is not as rich. So your +4% will not be the same +4% on a vtec fuel map. You should add fuel for L-H switch over.

I assume your tuning with the *** dyno. When I did mine, I set vtec high. I drove it and could feel a difference in power. I lowered it a little and continued drivng. I found a point where the crossover was almost undetectable to my *** dyno. Thats where I put my vtec. Find that point first, then tune your fuel. Tune the wide throttle high rpm settings. You shouldn't really need the wide throttle low rpm's, instead just downshift. Tune the low throttle low rpms points for drivabilty. If you have a chipped ecu this part comes in handy.

Thanks for the great help. I was wondering if you can post up your setup with your vafc settings also and on what kinda car it is. I know its not the same for all cars but I just want to get a feel of it. Actually my vafc is alrdy dyno tune by sum cheezy shop and now I rather *** dyno it my with my a/f gauge lolz. Is it somewhat correct that they hella lean my wide throttle settings like -3 then later -4 throughout they left my narrow throttle settings all 0 like they didn't tune it.... my vtec crossover is at 5000. Throttle position is low 10% high 50%. My question is What is this throttle position? Also what is the narrow settings? Is it like half throttle on the gas pedal or something??? All mine are set at 0. I don't understand these function very well. Oh yeah, whats the Ne Points do? Its function and purpose? So can you enlighten me with more info thanks.

The shop didnt tune the low end because they arent concerned with fuel milage or drivability, only power in the high end like I said.

Throttle Position low and high are the percentages of throttle position that you want the vafc to make changes and to which map. Set the low to 0 or 1%. It will start at idle or just off idle. Go for a cruise during your normal driving and figure out what throttle % you typically cruise at. Set you high throttle for somehting higher than that. My specs are meaningless, they're for a minime setup in a 96 hatch.

Heres a better idea, we can hook up and you can pay me to do yours. e-mail me.
