Default Sick of NA, neeed boost and Help asap.

Hi all

Had a few engines overthe years based on B18c-r engines, and B16a2's. Had lotsof fun but sadly even more failures. Iv decided to try the turbo root but need a bit of help.

Im using a B16a2 with Wiseco pistons and Eagle rods. 8.8-1 comp. GSR head with all Skunk2 valvetrain, GSR cams and skunk2 gears. The block is still open deck. I wanted to know what sort of turbo to use for a power output of 300@wheels if possible. Iv got Chrome pro management. Iv seen loads of ebay kits but obviously the turbos will be pretty crap for the price? Am i correct? But most of the other bits look good to get me started. Cheers for any help. Marc

theres a place here called speedfactory, uses ebay turbos. they manage to hit 10's in vitara setups, i think. try looking it up, i think you had to restrict the oil coming in to make it last long, so the whatever doesn't wear out as fast.

dont use an ebay turbo, not reliable.
go witha turbonetics or garrett. the moneys worth it and with 8.8 compression, you can boost into high numbers, 15-20, with the right tune and internals.

cheap+fast=not reliable
fast+reliable=expensive
cheap+reliable=not fast

I am not going to lie I got one of those ebay turbos and made 305whp and have had no problems with it at all. the only problem I had was the sh!ty manifold which I have already replaced. the way I see it is even if it dosent last that long, as cheap as they are when it fails you can just get another one.

Iv gone for a turbo kit with a cast mani and a T3/T4 turbo that hopefully i will replace after a few weeks if its crap, or as stuff fails to work i suppose il upgrade them etc... Thing is they get u started. What do u do about oil pressure to the turbo? Can u use a restictor or summat?

Also I have forged internals on my B16 but no block guard? Will it be okay to run 250-300WHP if tuned right? I dont wanna install liners ideally. Cheers guys Marc. Cant wait!
