Icon6 Anyone using this turbo (Turbonetics)

I recently bought this turbo from a friend not really knowing much about it and do not know to many specs on it other than its a t3/t4. I believe it is a 57 trim but not positive, due to it being at home and i am at school so i can not measure the a/r. I believe it is a 57 trim .63 a/r Let me know your results and what type of power you are making with this turbo. thanks guys.

Note this is not the exact photo of my turbo but identical, so if original owner wants me to take down will do so thanks.

I'm running either the same or very similar turbo on my 2L 16v VW motor. It's an older Turbonetics(pre 02-03 I think judging by the comp housing). The hotside specs should be on the housing below the WG port if it's a 5 bolt housing.
You should be able to make 400-450whp out of it, depending on the turbine wheel. The're good turbos, and some of them had a ball bearing CHRA option(Ballistic series)

This site has more info on the older Turbonetics:

Actually, that looks like one of the older v1-trim models that were used from Turbonetics, good to about 400whp max. Also, Turbonetics uses CERAMIC ball-bearing CHRAs, not the same as the Ballistic series. I never like them because in previous years, the bearings used to literally disintegrate with shock.

Ditto on it being T04B compressor wheel. T04E wheels are all 6-blade now, really old T04B's are 8-blade, newer are 7-blade. More than likely its a stg3 turbine. A stg5's size makes it very obvious.

The only bearing used in those turbos were ceramic & bronze journal bearings. The only non-GT Garrett turbos with ball bearings are very new (with the option) or were converted. The only difference is very slightly faster transient response time; they don't spool faster.

On a decent motor with pump gas, 400whp is about what you'll see. 500whp MAYBE with C16 and a highly modded engine.
