GT2871R stock wastegate max boost?
Hey guys. I have a Garrett GT2871r on my integra and am getting it tuned on friday. I was just wondering how much PSI the stock wastegate can handle? Thanks.

they are typically a 8-10psi wastegate, but there are upgrades to that spring. You can go up to about 20psi with it, but at that point, you've just about maximized the turbos potential anyway, those are good to about 330whp or so, especially if you used the .86A/R t25 internal setup.
A boost controller will be needed regardless if you plan to go above the 8-10psi mark, and it will start to open at about 9.2psi of boost.

Stock T25 wastegate won't hold 20 PSI across the entire RPM range though... It can certainly do over 300WHP, but you will be making that at around 10-12 PSI.
Generally, the internal wastegate sucks.. It makes the turbo spool later, feel laggier, and occasional spiking. I would upgrade if you have the option to.
Without going to the external wastegate route, I went with a Forge motorsport adjustable wastegate actuator. That allowed me to hold 20 PSI all the way. Eventually I blocked off the wastegate port and went with a boostgate method and got my 420 WHP pull at 21-22 PSI. Internal gate + highboost = crappy.
