turbo gurus, identify this garrett turbo for a noob
hey guys, i have this turbo, and i was just wondering if you could tell me anything about it, specs, id, how much its worth, etc...
correct me if i'm wrong, but from what i gather, its a hybrid t3/t4, internally waste gated, with a compressor housing a/r of .50, and a turbine a/r of .58. the compressor housing has that info stamped on it, but the turbine doesn't. just on the inside of the turbine inlet, however, there is a stamp that says ".58" am i right so far?
also, the 5 bolt t3 flange looks to have the ability to accomodate a vband clamp. i just found out what a vband is today.. so is this it?
the turbine wheel has been shaved a bit.. as you can see in the third pic. whats this for?
a little history on the turbo: i got it from a guy that worked for garrett. he said it was used as a prototype for testing.
one spec i don't quite understand is the trim. i found the formula to calculate it, but i don't understand what minor/major radii are. and also how to differentiate between T4 compressors.. B, E, etc.
basically i'm trying to price this appropriately, i plan to sell it, and i'd rather know what i'm selling before doing so. thanks in advance!

It's a V-Band if you keep the internal wastegate. If you ditch it, it'll be a standard 5 bolt housing.
And as for the exhust housing, it should be either .48, .63 or .82 a/r.
.58 a/r is used for T4 exhaust housings
The wheel is shaved to balance the wheel

if it has .58 stamped on the turbine inlet wouldn't that be a .58 A/r? I'm pretty sure it would be regardless of what the standard sizes are.
