Default Help!! I backed into my door and [freak]ed it up!!

I left my door on my Del Sol popped so I could get into it in a few minutes.

Well, my Land Rover was parked next to it, and I had to move it. I do so, and go out to my sol later, to find the door wide open. It wont close. I look at it closely, and I think it got caught on the Rover and I bent it too far forward (it doesn't have that little bar thingy to stop it from opening too far)..

Now the door makes a solid THUD when I try closing it. I think the hinges on the car are bent too far, making the door pushed too far forward.

Is this bad? How much would a shop charge to fix it??

Man I'm pissed. I think i'm gonna call my insurance and have them fix it :irk:

Matt

check your locking on the inside of the door if that's not it just take the fender off and then the door if the brackets need to be rebent then do that.it's not a hard process

Go to the local junkyard for hinge replacements.
The shop shouldn't charge a lot if the work is simply unscrewing/replacing.

In for pics..

I'm wondering if you bent the door frame too. you might need a whole door.

I'll snap shots tomorrow.. but the door hinges are lamborghini green... so I'd need more paint. And there is still a ripple in the front part of the door nearest the hinges that looks like **** in the door. So probably more parts and MORE paint. [freak] this sucks!!

It just looks like the hinges are bent off of the car and back some, which is bringing the whole door forward towards the front of the car, throwing off the alignment.

I think I may need to file an insurance claim

if you can afford a range rover, you can afford to fix it.

rip off your door and tape a garbage bag around the gaping hole like they do in the ghetto. free, and effective

that sucks.....go get a few estimates from local body shops, see what they say about it, if it's worth paying the deductible then go thru insurance, if not, pay out of your pocket, that's if you can't do it yourself nor have the time. good luck

Oh I'll have to see what my deductible is. It's either 300$ or 500$..
I dont do body work though.. and with the crazy paint on the car, I dont want to mess anything up any further.
