ok so i have a 2000 civic dx non vtec d16y7 running in the car.

just bought a newer engine with lower miles from a 1998 d16y7,

same engine but from what i understand obd2b started in 1999, so the one that i just bought is obd2a and the one thats in it already is obd2b, i do not know if i can make this work and what i need to do in order to get this done.

the new engine didn't come with dizzy,starter,transmission.

but it did come with the stock engine harness. no ecu

can i make this work?

 

get a ecu for a d16y8 in 99-00

 

ok so keep the wiring harness thats in it right now and get a d16y8 ecu and thats it?

 

just swap the motor and reuse everything you have

everything will plug and play

and you dont need a d16y8 ecu cuz you dont have vtec

dont kill yourself over this obd junk
