My civic has a d15b with no wiring hacked up at all, only difference is its running the y8 head on it. Still using the d16y8 ecu and wiring and the car runs well. It has actually outrun a similarly aged d16y8 but it was a driver's race.

Nothing you've said tells me that this is an obd1 or an obd2 d15b.

post pictures of the motor. one way to tell if the d15b is obd1 or 2 is where the dip stick is located at. if it is in the middle of the exhaust manifold, it is obd1. if it is near the cam shaft its obd2.

swap your intake manifold on the motor. but the ecu would need to be changed. find a p2e ecu from a dx/lx/cx

I'd like to see this. Is this true across 1992-2000 then

How do you know its a 99 D15B? Please post the head code.

In essence, you're swapping your D16Y8 for a D16Y7.
