Timing marks on Y8?!?!
1) 12 degrees BTDC is the red mark, correct?
2) There is no way that I can get the red mark between the timing marks on the timing belt cover!?!
I don't have the sticker that's on the hood to tell this stuff if it's there....

I'm looking up the red mark in the actual Honda service manual...BRB.</TD></TR></TABLE>
I wish I had one of those!

I have an adjustable cam gear at 0°...would it be safe to say, adjust cam timing to compensate for ignition timing?

If the distributor is turned all the way toward the front of the engine, and timing is near TDC, which way would I rotate the cam to get the ignition timing right?
Rotating the distributor towards the back of the engine makes the red mark go all the way to the front of the engine to where I can't see it with the light shining down throught the "view finder"....
Has the head and/or block been decked?
Have you checked the timing belt/mechanical timing yet? Lined up TDC mark on crankshaft pulley and possibly swapping a stock cam gear on solely to determine if the cam/crank are in time?

Well I'm assuming that when I had it built they milled/decked the head/block. I haven't checked the mechanical timing and nor have I swapped out the cam gear....

The cam timing has to off, I'm just going to adjust it to compensate for right now...will this be OK?
Off subject, how do you check what code is being thrown with an OBD1 ecu in an OBD2 car?
