Default power window help

2000 ex coupe

The passenger window motor stop working so I pulled the panel off the door and pulled the motor out. I jumped 12v straight to the motor and it worked. I swap the wires and it worked both ways. I have 12v up and down on the plug too. When I plug the motor in though nothing happens. Motor ohms out at 1.3. I grounded the motor when testing from the plug since the plug is just power up and down and the motor is grounded to the door frame I used two jumper wires to make sure I have a good ground. Any ideas on why this motor wont work in the car?

You should see 12v one way and -12v the other way if you leave your probes in the same position.

REPLACE THE FUSE! it may look good, but i had the same problem on my ek. and its a 2$ replacement. if you do this, and it still does not work, you need to check the relay, which is under the driver side window button box...just had this thread week ago, try to find it. was very helpful.

I have the exact same problem. When I took the door panel off and checked the to verify the switch was putting power to the motor, I clipped my ground to the frame for reference. There was 12V alternating on the motor wires when pushing the switch up and down which ruled out the fuse and suggested a bad motor. After pulling the whole window mechanism out and popping the motor cover, I saw a perfectly clean set of brushes and communtator. Reassembly of course proved the motor worked fine and probably did the whole time. With the whole thing back in, it will run up and down using the switch power if I jumper a ground to the opposite motor wire.

Sooooo....I need to know which wire leading to the switch is supposed to be grounded, none of them are currently connected to ground. I can't find any wiring information that doesn't just speak to doing swaps and actually says what wire does what function.

Any help in identification of the five wires (two are motor, one power, the other two?) would be GREAT. Car is a 96 EX Coupe.

Thanks,

Steve
